Tech Enhancements Aid DFW Travelers

More technology will ease the passenger journey at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) with the addition of contact-less shopping at three new locations. The stores feature  the latest grab-and-go technology, where travelers can scan their credit card for quick and easy contact-less shopping.

Customers can experience the technology at Hudson Nonstop featuring Amazon’s Just Walk Out Technology in Terminal B, Fort Worth Magazine Store powered by Zippin in Terminal C, and Grab & Fly featuring Amazon’s Just Walk Out in Terminal D.

At the entrance of Hudson Nonstop and Grab & Fly, customers have the option to scan the palm of their hand to create an account. After selecting their items, the customer will be automatically charged as they exit the store.

“DFW Airport’s focus on a smooth customer experience continues with the addition of innovative technologies,” said Ken Buchanan, executive vice president of Revenue Management and Customer Experience. “We understand the convenience our customers want when they are in our terminals, and our mission is to help them travel as seamlessly as possible through DFW Airport.”

The airport also unveiled a new amenity that lets passengers track the arrival of shuttle buses with their smartphones. The Terminal Link shuttle tracker can be accessed by scanning the QR code at each Terminal Link shuttle stop, or accessing the service through the dfwairport.com site.

While initially serving only the Terminal Link shuttle, planned expansion of this service includes the parking and rental car center shuttles. The tracking service will be added to the DFW airport mobile app in the coming weeks, airport officials said.
