Francis Named VP-COO at SAN

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, which operates San Diego International Airport (SAN), has named Rick Francis as vice president & chief operations officer, responsible for setting the strategic direction for terminal and airside operations, aviation security and public safety, ground transportation, and facilities maintenance functions at the airport.

Mr. Francis comes to SAN after serving as assistant director at John Wayne Airport (SNA) for almost six years, including one year as interim airport director. Prior to SNA, Francis was assistant city manager for the City of Costa Mesa where he provided leadership and supervision of the city’s executive management team and consulted closely with the city manager on the implementation of department programs and planning long-range strategic goals.

As we continue building the new T1, his leadership will be an integral part of ensuring our operations remain focused on the customer experience as we navigate through the construction impacts to come.”
