San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC) and car-sharing marketplace Turo announced the availability of vehicle exchange from approved area at the airport. The partnership enable Turo hosts to share vehicles in an airport zone designated for peer-to-peer car sharing services, so that arriving travelers can pick up a vehicle directly, including luxury and economy options. SJC and Turo also offer convenient drop-off locations.
Turo drop offs/pick-ups are in the Terminal A Garage, the Economy Parking Lot and the Terminal B- Sop 2. Hosts on Turo list their care for booking and the time and price of their choice. Travelers enter their requested pick-up location, date and time and are provided with photos and descriptions of available vehicles, along with details for booking.
“In the spirit of Silicon Valley, we’re excited to be the first Bay Area airport to introduce Turo’s innovative platform,” said John Aitken, SJC director. “The partnership not only provides a creative transportation solution at the airport but also offers an economic resource for members of our community looking to generate extra income using their vehicles.”
