Villa Touts New EWR Offerings

Morristown, New Jersey-based Villa Restaurant Group has opened seven dining concepts at Newark Liberty International Airport’s (EWR) new Terminal A, bringing  Villa’s airport division to a total of 31 locations, including corporate and joint venture operations as well as proprietary concepts operated by other concessionaires, across ten North American airports.

The company also said it has struck multi-unit deals with Starbucks and Shake Shack and has debuted the partnerships at EWR.

At EWR Terminal A, Villa said it “heeded the call for a truly ‘Jersey for Jersey’ sense of place” from developer Munich Airport NJ LLC.

Villa’s lineup at EWR includes their own local concepts The Office Tavern Grill and Town bar + kitchen, both first in an airport setting, as well as The Market for essential grab and go needs. Building on its successful partnerships at LaGuardia Airport Terminal B and Newark Airport Terminal B, Villa added another Zaro’s Family Bakery to its portfolio at Terminal A. Rounding out its lineup, are Bluestone Lane, Shake Shack, and Starbucks, all of which are new partnerships.

It’s both amazing and humbling to see what we have achieved at the new Terminal A,” said Biagio Scotto, president of Villa Restaurant Group. “This project is the culmination of many years of hard work at all levels of VRG as well as with our partners, starting with the Port Authority.”

The new Terminal A at EWR is the result of a $2.7 billion investment by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The new terminal consists of 33 gates that will be used by American Airlines, Air Canada, Delta, JetBlue and United Airlines, and will have the ability to accommodate more than 13 million people each year.

“We are very enthusiastic about the comprehensive partnership with Villa Restaurant Group,” said Elisabeth Sailer, vice president commercial at Munich Airport NJ. “With seven new inviting restaurants, we are bringing a wide range of national, international, and local brands to the new Terminal A – which fits perfectly into our overall concept of hospitality and creating a distinctive New Jersey sense of place.”
