DFW Launches PourAway Pilot Program

PourawayDallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) launched an innovative PourAway pilot program to help passengers conveniently empty bottles of prohibited liquids at Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints, preventing unnecessary landfill waste.

The DFW PourAway offers travelers easy access to large, liquid-disposal containers right outside security checkpoints located at A10, B9, C1, D22, and E18. Customers can pour their liquid leftovers into the large blue container, drop their bottle in the nearby recycling bin or carry it through security for refills in the terminals.

Rather than have passengers throw away plastic bottles at the TSA checkpoints, we are creating a way for travelers to make the more sustainable choice to empty their liquids and fill up again in the terminals,” said Ken Buchanan, DFW executive vice president customer experience and revenue management. “This is a win-win-win that addresses security, sustainability and passenger convenience.”
