The City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation, operator of Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), has named Michael Morris as its new deputy chief information officer (CIO) of customer engagement.
In the newly created role, Morrie will oversee software engineering, the solutions architect group, the IT helpdesk, and the IT project management office within the airports’ IT department.
Morris joined PHL in 2022 as director of information technology. Prior to that he spent 17 years in IT at Penn and Penn Medicine.
“Michael is a strong leader and has accomplished great things since joining the Department of Aviation, including cultivating relationships with many airport stakeholders,” said Allen Mehta, CIO for the city aviation department. “In his new role, Michael will continue to oversee the development, growth and responsibilities of the IT Helpdesk and the implementation of various software systems and solutions that support the Department of Aviation.”
