Airport retailer Johnston & Murphy has unveiled a new exhibit showcasing its tradition of designing presidential footwear at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).
The Presidential Footwear exhibit, which arrived in late July at ORD ahead of Chicago’s Democratic National Convention (DNC), features 13 of the shoes designed by Johnston & Murphy for U.S. presidents, including pairs created for Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. The brand has designed custom shoes — ranging from a pair of size 14 lace-up boots for Lincoln to Oxfords crafted for Barack Obama — for every U.S. president since Millard Fillmore. The exhibit will move from ORD to the DNC on August 15th.
