The City of Jacksonville celebrated the unveiling of new Proto hologram technology featuring Mayor Donna Deegan at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). The 4K AI-powered hologram features the mayor greeting passengers in English, Spanish, French, German and Japanese, with capability for the legislator to update her message in real time via text message as well as to beam in special guests. The system is sponsored by the Jacksonville Enterprise Permitting, Inspections and Compliance System (JAXEPICS) and created in partnership with AnuVision Technologies, a Native American-owned audio-visual integration firm. JAX’s Proto installation follows the company’s first airport outpost at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)’s Terminal 4.
“It’s incredibly exciting to debut this message at JAX, and just in time for the holidays,” said Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan. “This continues the City of Jacksonville’s commitment to investing in cutting-edge technology that can be deployed in a myriad of ways to both improve communication, and better the lives of our citizens.”
“What better way to welcome people arriving in your city than to have the Mayor herself offering a greeting?” adeed David Nussbaum, founder and inventor of Proto Inc. “We’re so proud to be working with Anuvision Technologies in Jacksonville and Mayor Deegan. Proto has so much to offer airports including AI hologram avatars who can interact in any language, directory and shopping applications, and special guests beaming in to surprise fans. Congrats JAX!”
“At AnuVision Technologies, we’re passionate about bringing transformative technologies to our community,” added Summer Vyne, founder of AnuVision Technologies. “The partnership with Proto allows us to create immersive experiences that elevate Jacksonville’s profile as a forward-thinking city. Having Mayor Donna Deegan welcome visitors as a hologram is not just innovative—it’s a powerful way to connect with travelers on a global scale. We’re proud to be part of this project and to showcase the incredible potential of holographic technology.”
“We are thrilled that JAX, in partnership with the city, will be one of the first airports in the nation to debut this amazing technology,” said Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Mark VanLoh. “We are proud of our reputation as one of the most welcoming airports in the United States, and the mayor’s new hologram is sure to surprise and delight travelers exploring our region whether they’re traveling here for the first time or coming home for the holidays.”
