The American Association of Airport Executives has a new chairman for 2012-13: Bruce Carter.
Carter, director of aviation at Quad City International (MLI), has served as president of the Great Lakes chapter, and currently is chairman of the organization’s Executive Committee and serves on the International Association of Airport Executives; in addition, he has chaired the National Airports Conference and the Airport Ground Handling Association.
“I am thrilled and ready for the coming year as chair,” Carter says. “I am proud to represent not only my airport community, but all of AAAE’s members that are part of this professional organization.”
Early in his career, Cater owned a fixed base operation in Clarion, Iowa, before becoming the operations manager at Waterloo Regional (ALO). He was then airport director at ALO, director of aviation at Abraham Lincoln Capital (SPI) and director of airports at Greater Peoria Regional (PIA) before taking on his current role at MLI in 1999.
He earned his degree from Waldorf College, is an Accredited Airport Executive and is a commercial pilot.
