AAAE Names Basaria to New VP Position

In its ongoing efforts to enhance benefits and services for its members, the American Association of Airport Executives has appointed Gwen Basaria as its first vice president of member delight and engagement.

“AAAE is dedicated to exceeding expectations when it comes to member services, and the fact that we now have a talented, experienced, senior-level professional whose sole focus is member engagement and satisfaction will help ensure that we deliver on that promise,” says Todd Hauptli, president and CEO of AAAE. “Gwen will utilize her drive, her passion and her considerable skills to ensure that AAAE is meeting the evolving needs of airport executives and fulfilling its mission of providing the highest levels of service, innovation, and results to AAAE members. Her appointment is a grand-slam homerun for AAAE and our members.”

Basaria, who has been with AAAE since 2004, was most recently the staff vice president of digital communications and government affairs. Her new role will require her to work will all departments of the association and be the primary advocate for members. Plus, she will assist in identifying member priorities, managing and elevating service standards, creating and monitoring member satisfaction and developing new programs, services and benefits.

“I have been privileged to be a part of the AAAE family for nearly 12 years, and I am truly excited about the new opportunity to work even more closely on a daily basis with the talented men and women whom I have come to know so well during my time with AAAE,” says Basaria.  “Engaging our members and building meaningful relationships with them, identifying their priorities, ensuring that all member interests are appropriately represented, and finding new ways to be of service … I can’t wait to get to work.”
