Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) this week congratulated former South Bend, IN mayor and presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg on his selection as President-elect Joe Biden’s nominee for Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
“I congratulate Mayor Buttigieg on his nomination to this important position within the Biden administration,” said Kevin Burke, ACI-NA president and CEO. “Airports are an essential part of America’s critical aviation infrastructure and provide jobs for 2.7 million people. The Department of Transportation secretary will be taking the helm at a critical time where our airports need support now more than ever.”
Burke added the airport industry looked forward to working hand-in-hand with Buttigieg and the new Congress to help build an economic recovery.
