AECOM And Luis Vidal + Architects To Redesign BOS

AECOM and luis vidal + architects have won the contract to redesign and modernize Boston Logan International Airport’s (BOS) Terminal E. AECOM will act as the prime consultant and architect and engineer of record. The firm luis vidal + architects will be the vision architect.

Together, the design team will modernize Terminal E completely within the airport’s footprint. The team will work to accommodate internal operations and passengers and to minimize community and environmental impacts.

Major design changes will include significant renovations to the existing terminal, enhanced ticketing and international arrivals, a new consolidated passenger security checkpoint, airline clubs, baggage systems, concession space and a multi-story central hall. The design will emphasize efficiency and sustainability, and the airport will seek LEED Gold status from the U.S. Green Building Council for the completed terminal.

“This project will elevate Massport’s reputation for providing a world-class passenger experience to its international passengers,” says Terry Rookard, principal architect and senior vice president of AECOM architecture. “As one of the busiest airports in the U.S., Boston Logan will be prepared to meet customer expectation and demand well into the future.”
