Airmall Cleveland, a part of Fraport USA, has signed a contract to extend its role as developer and manager of retail concessions at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) for five years, starting January 16, 2019. Under this agreement, Airmall Cleveland will continue to oversee the design, construction, lease, and management of all retail and food and beverage facilities in CLE’s terminals.
Airmall Cleveland has developed and managed retail concessions at CLE since 2008. During that time, Airmall Cleveland has added 51 retail and dining units to CLE, nearly doubling the concessions space and increasing concessions employment by 60 percent. Sales per enplaned passenger also rose to $10.46, an 88 percent increase.
Airmall Cleveland prides itself on local brands, including Great Lakes Brewing Company, Bar Symon, Inca Tea and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum Store. Airmall Cleveland has also worked to create opportunities for small business owners through Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program (ACDBE), which account for 45 percent of sales at CLE.
“We are pleased to continue our valuable partnership with Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and city and airport officials,” said Ben Zandi, president and CEO, Fraport USA. “We look forward to creating more breakthrough opportunities for small businesses and adding to a strong mix of local and national concepts with programs that deliver a best-in-class experience for passengers and the community at large.”
