The first in a series of duty free stores has opened at the AIRMALL at Boston Logan International (BOS).
The store in Terminal E, operated by International Shoppes, is 3,540 sq. ft. and offers liquor, tobacco and fragrances; once purchased, the items are packaged and hand-delivered to the gate.
“At AIRMALL Boston, we are pleased to welcome the first of International Shoppes’ permanent units in terminals B and E, and are confident that they will continue to take our duty-free program to the next level,” says Michael Caro, vice president of AIRMALL Boston, which manages and develops the retail concessions program for BOS’ Terminals B and E. “Earlier this year, International Shoppes utilized cutting-edge technology to service travelers with three virtual stores in the terminal while they made improvements to these permanent units. International Shoppes provides passengers with high-quality duty free merchandise and enables the duty free program at the AIRMALL at BOS to achieve continued success. We are pleased to welcome this first duty free unit to the lineup in Boston and look forward to the opening of the remaining three units this summer.”
New York-based International Shoppes became the new duty free operator for the AIRMALL at BOS on Jan. 1. The agreement calls for two stores each in Terminals B and E.
