Airport Revenue News (ARN) has
announced the winners of its prestigious Director of the Year award for
2008. William DeCota, director of aviation for the Port Authority of
New York & New Jersey, has won in the large airports division;
Bruce Pelly, director of aviation for the Palm Beach Department of
Airports, has won in the small airports division.
ARN solicited for candidates by asking members of the airport industry
to submit their favorite directors and list the reasons why they made
their choices. The candidates had to excel in the categories of
leadership, innovation, revenue generation, marketing, customer service
and community service contributions. The director in each division
receiving the most mentions won the award.
“We are very proud to honor these two directors with this coveted
award. These directors are stand-outs in all aspects of leadership at
their airports, and we believe they are great contributors to our
industry,” says Pauline Armbrust, president and chief executive officer
of Armbrust Aviation, the company that publishes ARN.
Interviews detailing the accomplishments of Pelly and DeCota will
appear in the November 2008 and December ’08/January ’09 issues,
respectively. In addition to their interviews, they will also be
featured on the covers of those issues and will be presented with their
award at the ARN Awards Show on the final night of the 2009 ARN Revenue
Conference & Exhibition at the Omni ChampionsGate in Orlando, Fla.
(Feb. 15-17, 2009). For more information on the conference, please go
