Albany County Airport Authority has selected HMSHost Corp. to operate as many as six new food and beverage venues at the Albany International (ALB). HMSHost was chosen from among several new and existing vendors that submitted proposals for evaluation.
Under the agreement, HMSHost will invest $3.3M in the redesign and construction of the new airport facilities.
“The selection of HMSHost represents a new phase in our food and beverage offerings that will provide a new and exciting concession program and fulfill the expectations of today’s traveler,” says David E. Langdon, chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority.
The HMSHost program will encompass six locations within the airport terminal where existing service contracts are about to expire. Construction of the new concessions is expected to begin in January. Some of the new concessions are expected to operate on a limited basis during the construction of their new facilities.
Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks will be strategically placed; Dunkin’ will be landside in the immediate pre-security area and Starbucks will be airside in the immediate post-security area.
The Adirondack Lodge on Concourse A and the Hudson Valley Wine Bar on Concourse B will offer two distinct regional themes. The lodge, with its rustic dé©cor, will mirror the atmosphere of a Great Adirondack Camp; the wine bar will reflect the beauty of the Hudson Valley and bring attention to its award-winning wines.
Jack’s Oyster House, one of Albany’s finest landmark restaurants, will partner with HMSHost to create Silks of Saratoga. Silks will be adjacent to ALB’s food court and offer a fine dinning experience with a Saratoga racing theme.
A new and full-service international concept will be located on Concourse C. Brioche Doree will offer bakery items, gourmet sandwiches and fresh salads, and will accommodate travelers with morning breakfast pastry, an afternoon snack or full lunch or dinner with a glass of wine or beer.
