Well-known local ice cream shop, Amy’s Ice Cream is returning to Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS) as one of four restaurant concepts unveiled at the airport this week.
The four restaurants, all located across from Gate 21, also include Hat Creek Burger Company, Flyrite Chicken Sandwiches, and pizza provider East Side Pies.
Famous for their Mexican Vanilla, Oreo and Belgian Chocolate flavors, Amy’s Ice Cream made its AUS return following an extensive overhaul of its airport location that now features a 30-foot long airplane wing above the restaurant canopy. It offers both dining and grab-n-go options, including shakes and smoothies.
Hat Creek Burger Company was founded as an Austin food truck and now has nine locations in the area, including the airport. Hat Creek Burger will offer signature burgers such as the Sombrero with double-served pepper jack cheese, jalapeño, grilled onion and Yellowbird Hot Sauce, the Cowboy Hat with double-served shredded cheddar cheese, bacon, red onion, pickles, and barbecue sauce, and a full breakfast menu.
Sandwich restaurant Flyrite Chicken will also provide meals from morning through night, including its own take on chicken and waffles, while the East Side Pies menu includes eight specialty pies along with fresh garlic knots and an option to build your own perfect pizza.
