ARAA Swears In At-Large Member

The newly appointed at-large member of the Asheville Regional Airport Authority was sworn in during the board’s February meeting.

Bill Moyer was chosen to serve the remainder of the four-year term vacated by Chuck McGrady in February.

“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Moyer to the authority board,” said David Hillier, chairman. “Thanks to the hard work of our board and staff, we have celebrated some great achievements of late and I look forward to continuing that trend with Bill and the rest of the board in the coming months.”

The Pennsylvania native and Henderson County resident spent his career as a partner in the Philadelphia law firm of Dechert, Price & Rhoads, practicing corporate, securities and utility law, and as CEO of C-TEC, a public telecommunications company.

He moved his family to Henderson County in 1990 and became active in community affairs, serving on civic and charitable boards. He was on the Henderson County Board of Commissioners for 12 years, eight of which were as chairman. He is currently vice chairman of the board of Pardee Hospital.

The board is made up of seven members and has overall financial and policy-making responsibility for Asheville Regional (AVL).
