Areas has been given the contract for eight new dining establishments divided between La Palma and Santiago de Compostela airports, the only restaurant operator between the two.
The company had already had dining concessions, and with the new contract, adds another. The square footage of its concessions will double to more than 51,885 sq. ft.
The old restaurant and coffee shop brands will be renovated, the company says. Concessions include La Pausa brasserie-grill at both airports; Pulpoh! In Santiago; Henry J. Beans in La Palma; and the coffee shops Caffriccio (also at both sites), Caffé¨ di Roma (Santiago), Ars (La Palma) and Meal O’Clock (La Palma).
Concessions are expected to bring in 59M over the eight-year term. The company will keep the current employees and add eight in Santiago and four in La Palma.
In addition, the company will manage the staff dining rooms and 35 vending machines at both airports.
