ARN Names GSP’s Edwards Director Of The Year In Small Airports Category

Airport Revenue News is pleased to announce David N. Edwards Jr., president and CEO of Greenville-Spartanburg International (GSP), its 2015 Director of the Year in the small airports* category.

“Edwards’ work with GSP and his many years serving the aviation industry made him a truly deserving choice for this award,” says Ramon Lo, publisher of ARN.

After a lengthy process, Edwards was chosen by ARN’s editorial staff for his work in improving GSP and his continued efforts in advancing the aviation industry. Edwards is in the midst of leading GSP through a $125 million terminal improvement program called Wingspan that, among other things, will increase the airport’s capacity and efficiency. In 2009, he became president and CEO of GSP after serving as airport director of Asheville Regional (AVL). He has been chairman of Airports Council International-North America and on the board of directors for ACI World, and he is past president of the Southeast chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives.

“I truly appreciate being recognized by ARN for service to an industry that has given so much to me and my family over the years,” Edwards says. “I would not have achieved many of the successes in my career without the support of others in the industry and my family. I love what I do and I am humbled by such recognition.”

Edwards will be interviewed in and featured on the cover of ARN’s October issue. He will be presented this award at the ARN Awards Show on the final night of the ARN 2016 Revenue Conference & Exhibition in Dallas. For more information about the conference, please go to www.arnconference.com.

*ARN is using the same classification as the Federal Aviation Administration, which re-classifies airports each year as small, medium or large hubs based on their percentage of the nation’s total annual passenger enplanements.
