The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification was given to the airport for its use in building the 1.2 million sq. ft. terminal and concourse with recycled and/or regionally produced construction materials, as well as the steps it took to ensure air quality, conserve water and energy, and increase the use of natural light.
