The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) and Paradies Lagardère have announced a concessions plan for the new airport terminal at Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) as part of the airport’s AVL Forward project. Paradies Lagardère will operate five new dining concepts, two retail stores and multiple vending concessions options in the new terminal, which is currently slated to complete its first construction phase this summer. Concepts scheduled to open in Phase One include The Goods@AVL, a bespoke boutique offering passengers gourmet fare, grab-and-go snacks, souvenirs, apparel and other goods from local artisans; national sandwich brand Jimmy John’s; Tropical Smoothie Cafe, offering made-to-order smoothies, wraps, sandwiches and flatbreads; as well as two temporary concessions: Costa Coffee, a cafe offering coffee and local baked goods, and Aletitude, a beer, wine, cocktail and snack stand.
Concessions scheduled to open in 2027 under the project’s Phase Two include Appalachian Exchange, a market-style retail store celebrating North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountain Range and featuring local goods; Smoky Grounds, offering a rotating selection of coffee from local roasters as well as grab-and-go items; Beercode Kitchen and Bar, a casual, sit-down restaurant featuring gastropub-style fare and regional craft beer; and Vino Volo wine bar, offering local and regional wines, craft cocktails and an all-day food menu. AVL will also open two pre-security, 24/7 vending machines, travel@ease and Costa Coffee, offering snacks and grab-and-go items.
“We have a long-term positive and successful partnership with Paradies Lagardère, proudly named as their very first airport location for food and beverage offerings in 2011,” said AVL president and CEO Lew Bleiweis. “Paradies is committed to western North Carolina and to providing locally sourced food, beverages and artisan products in the airport, which is important to us. Their design concepts for the new terminal are exciting, and I look forward to seeing these excellent passenger amenities come to fruition.”
“We congratulate the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority for officially approving plans for this impressive new terminal for the airport,” said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of Paradies Lagardère. “In support of this exceptional new direction, we are excited to contribute an impressive lineup of retail stores and restaurants that will elevate the traveler experience with a healthy balance of national and local concepts, unique innovation, and our award-winning customer service.”
