Asheville Regional Airport joined with Bojangles’ of Western North Carolina to treat arriving passengers to a unique surprise Monday.
As arriving passengers waited for their luggage in baggage at AVL, Bojangles’ gift boxes rolled out on the bag belt with gift tags that read “TAKE ME,” “OPEN ME” and “PICK ME UP.”
As the gift boxes were retrieved and opened, balloons popped up and gifts were revealed, including free family meals at Bojangles’. In addition, Bojangles’ team members entered the baggage claim area and distributed treats among the travelers.
The airport invited Bojangles’ of WNC to participate in this surprise passenger appreciation event in order to show some love and appreciation to the local community and visitors alike.
“Our airport continues to grow – now the second-fastest growing airport in the country,” said Tina Kinsey, Director of Marketing, PR & Air Service Development. “We know that the success of the airport is a direct reflection of our region’s willingness to ‘fly local,’ and we want to recognize and appreciation our travelers.”
Asheville Regional Airport celebrated a fourth consecutive year of passenger growth in 2017 and has experienced double-digit percentage growth (17.8%) year-to-date compared to this time last year. The airport is served by six airlines – Allegiant, American, Delta, Elite, Spirit and United – and offers more than 50 flights per day to 14 destinations.
