MooBella Ice Creamery has made its airport debut at Boston Logan International (BOS) and Manchester-Boston Regional (MHT).
MooBella machines allow consumers to create their own ice cream combination using a touch screen to place their order; they have the option of premium or light ice cream, three mix-ins and 12 flavors, and the creations are made in 40 seconds.
Bruce Ginsber, president and CEO, says airports are a good fit for MooBella.
“I spend a lot of time in airports and it’s clear to me that air travelers have become more and more demanding,” he says. “They don’t want pre-packaged products; they want fresh foods made from quality ingredients. And they want them fast. Without a doubt, MooBella fits the bill.”
MooBella is made from all-natural, dairy ingredients; it is certified kosher and is free of transfats and rGBH. The premium ice cream is 90% fat free and 230 calories per 4.5 oz. scoop; the light ice cream is 95% fat free and 200 calories per scoop.
BOS has two machines in Terminal C, at the Back Bay and Lean & Green Cafes; it officially opened in July. At MHT, which opened last week, the machine is at the Great American Bagel Bakery on the terminal’s second floor in the passenger boarding area.
