Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) officials have awarded a $40-million-dollar contract to Swedish construction and development firm Skanska for repair and renovation work on Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)’s Terminal B Garage.
The 250,000-square foot space will undergo work to streamline traffic through the creation of dedicated travel lanes and pick-up zones; the relocation of taxi and shuttle stands; a repositioning of the limousine pool; as well as structural and roadway repairs, lighting upgrades and stormwater drainage improvement.
“We are thrilled to once again partner with Massport to renovate the Terminal B Garage at Boston Logan International Airport,” says Bryan Northrop, executive vice president of Skanska USA Building’s New England Region. “Recognizing the airport’s vital role as a central travel hub in the region, our team at Skanska is committed to ensuring the best utilization of space within the Terminal B Garage while prioritizing safety and efficiency standards of the garage that will remain active throughout the construction.”
Construction will begin this summer, with the project estimated to finish by the end of 2026. The airport and garage will remain open throughout the repairs.
