Areas USA has hired Brian Holtman as director of business development.
Holtman comes to Areas’ business development team with a variety of experiences spanning nearly 20 years in airport concessions, as a developer, a concessionaire and with an airline.
His most recent position was with Sodexo Live!, where he was responsible for strategic business growth for the company, which serves stadiums, arenas, convention and conference centers, zoos and museums.
“I am excited to be back in the airport hospitality industry,” Holtman says. “It’s a great time to be a part of the Areas team as we continue to grow our presence in airports.
Previously, he has spent time at BAA USA (now Fraport), where he helped redevelop Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and establish the company’s presence at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE).
He worked for JetBlue Airways, where he was responsible for retail development, property management and leasing for John F. Kennedy International Airport’s (JFK) Terminal 5.
He also spent time with Vino Volo and was there when Paradies Lagardére acquired its parent, Hojeij Branded Foods.
Areas USA currently operates more than 130 restaurants and retail stores in nine airports and 13 travel plazas.
