BRO Names Assistant Airport Director

The City of Brownsville has named Christopher Hopkins as its new assistant director of airport for Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO), responsible for airside, landside, security, ground transportation and terminal operations for the airport.

Hopkins brings more than 22 years of industry experience in aviation, security, business finance, contract negotiations and public safety to his new role, most recently working for Aviation Events & Consulting, a firm specializing in lease negotiations and business development of airport space. Previously, Hopkins was vice president of aviation and government services for HSS, and chief operating officer for Wings Over the Rockies – Exploration of Flight.

“The City of Brownsville and one of its economic drivers, the Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport, are poised for future economic growth,” said Hopkins. “Under the leadership of the city manager, Helen Ramirez, I look forward to working with the great team at BRO to help bring a great experience to our traveling passengers.
