Brumfield Joins AMAC As President And CEO

The Airport Minority Advisory Council named Krystal Brumfield its new president and CEO.

She replaces Shelby Scales, who left the organization earlier this year.

Brumfield most recently was vice president and chief operating officer at the D.C. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. While there, she was responsible for providing leadership to the chamber’s overall strategic planning process and implementing new programmatic initiatives.

She also was involved in fundraising and planning major events for the organization.

Prior to her time at the chamber, she worked as tax and procurement council for the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, which was chaired by former Sen. Mary Landrieu.

“My approach is to manage existing relationships while cultivating new relationships with funders to secure and expand recurring revenue streams,” Brumfield says.

AMAC aims to eliminate barriers standing in the way of minority- and women-owned businesses having opportunities to participate in airport contracts. The organization works with Congress, the Federal Aviation Administration and aviation trade associations as a resource for information, education and guidance on business and employment matters.

“We are excited to have Ms. Brumfield on board as the new CEO,” says Darryl Daniels, chair of the organization’s board. “And I look forward to some amazing accomplishments under her leadership.”
