The first airport location of a Build-A-Bear Workshop will have its grand opening May 12 at Orlando International (MCO).
To kick off the celebration, the first 100 guests will make bears to donate to the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children as part of Stuffed with Hugs, a charitable program of the Build-A-Bear Workshop created to give children the chance to help others who are in need of a hug. The company is donating the bears for the event, which will be at the store in the Main Terminal on Level 3, Side B.
The MCO location is a direct deal with Westfield Concession Management.
“We are proud to have partnered with [the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority] and Build-A-Bear Workshop to bring an International brand synonymous with fun, family entertainment into airports for the first time,” says Ellery Plowman, Westfield’s vice president of business development and leasing. “We felt a great synergy between GOAA and Build-A-Bear Workshop’s values, and believe that passengers visiting the store during their travels through Orlando International Airport will feel the same connection.”
