BWI Opens Renovated Rail Station

Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI) executives joined Maryland state officials in a ceremony this week to mark the opening of the newly renovated BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport Rail Station.

The $4.7 million renovation project was done by the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) and enables travelers to enjoy more natural sunlight an expanded seating area with electric charging access, customer-friendly ticketing facilities, options for refreshments and snacks, and state-of-the-art restrooms.

The airport rail station serves the MARC Penn Line and Amtrak in Anne Arundel County and enables travelers to go via public transportation from BWI to downtown Washington, DC.

“This station is an outstanding resource for our passengers, offering quick, easy access to Washington, Baltimore and beyond,” says Ricky Smith, BWI executive director.
