Cortez Carter has joined SSP America as vice president of business development.
He will be responsible for developing new business opportunities in North America, initially focusing on the Southern and West Coast markets.
Previously, Carter has spent 25 years in banking, real estate development and international airport management, most recently as managing deputy commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation, which overseas Chicago O’Hare International (ORD) and Midway International (MDW).
While there, he was responsible for real estate, concessions and planning.
Pat Murray, executive vice president at SSP, says Carter already has immersed himself in the company’s culture.
“His energy and charisma have made him a welcome member of the team, and his industry knowledge will have an enormous impact on our continued growth.”
