The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), operator of O’Hare International (ORD) and Midway International (MDW) airports, in partnering with City Colleges of Chicago for a free continuing education course called Chicago Department of Aviation Career Prep.
Beginning in August, the two-hour virtual class through Olive-Harvey College will be taught for four consecutive weeks. The course will cover the history of the CDA, aviation terminology, and current trends and career paths in the commercial aviation/airport industry. It will also guide students through the CDA job application process and explain what the department and other airport and airline stakeholders are looking for on resumes.
“This new course with City Colleges is the beginning of what I know can be a tremendous partnership to connect young students and midcareer professionals with the thousands of employment opportunities at our two world-class airports,” said Jamie Rhee, CDA commissioner.
