A celebration of life is planned in January for Airport Minority Advisory Council founding member Leon C. Watkins, who passed away on December 15. For more than 35 years, Watkins directed and managed civil rights and equal employment opportunity programs for the federal government, most notably as the director of the Office of Civil Rights for the Federal Aviation Administration.
A celebration of Watkins’ life is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2019, in Orlando, Florida. In addition, a scholarship will be established in Watkins’ name through the AMAC Foundation.
