Chase, in partnership with Airport Dimensions, has opened the newest Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA). The entrance to the two-floor lounge is located post-security on the fourth floor of the newly redeveloped Terminal B and is the brand’s largest to-date at more than 21,800 square feet.
The new lounge features Chase’s first-ever bookable reserve suites, dedicated wellness rooms, a game room and exclusive menus from New York restaurants.
Lounge access is available to Chase Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve, Ritz-Carlton and Priority Pass cardholders. Designed as an open-concept, multilevel space, the sleek, contemporary lounge features fashionable, mid-century modern furniture from makers like Cappellini, Poliform, Moroso, and DePadova, a pleasing bird’s-eye-view “perch” level, as well as an abundance of seating nooks surrounded by hand-selected pieces by J.P. Morgan Chase’s art curator.
Visitors have the option of relaxing or working in the lounge’s well-appointed workspaces – complete with “Zoom rooms” – or playing DJ at the jukebox inside the facility’s retro arcade nook. “The arcade is one of my favorite features,” says Chris Gwilliam, Airport Dimensions vice president of global business development. “Everything else [in the lounge] is so modern, so it’s nice to take things back a notch.”
Other amenities include kid-friendly play areas, soothing meditation rooms and even 30-minute spa services from New York-based skincare company Face Haus — all bookable in-person and by using the lounge’s easily scannable QR code. Reserve cardholders also have the ability to book the lounge’s luxurious private suites that come fitted with a full entertainment center, concierge culinary menu, showers with designer toiletries, and high-end bites.
Gwilliam emphasizes that the team chose to prioritize partnering with New York-based vendors. In addition to spa services from the woman-owned Face Haus, the local flavor extends to the lounge’s concessions program as well, with bespoke small plates dishes available from New York restaurants Joseph Leonard and Jeffrey’s Grocery, local IPAs, a vast wine selection from New York’s Parcelle bar and specially-created cocktails from the Lower East Side’s Apotheke. Those looking for a caffeine fix are in luck, too — the Chase Sapphire lounge has cold brew on tap and made-to-order java from New York’s Joe’s Coffee.
It’s all part of the push to make the lounge feel like “an extension of the city,” says Gwilliam. “We wanted to create a real atmosphere,” he adds, noting that the lively-but-not-too-loud background music, pleasing lighting, and hotel-lobby setup encourages travelers to relax, but still make their flights.
“We’re honored to welcome Chase to Terminal B upon the opening of the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club, which will be a spectacular addition to our new terminal,” says Suzette Noble, chief executive officer, LaGuardia Gateway Partners, the manager and developer of Terminal B. “This new amenity beautifully complements Terminal B’s commitment to elevating the experiences of our guests from the tri-state area and around the United States.”
