Transportation Security Administration officials say travelers should avoid bringing wrapped gifts to airports, because they are likely to be opened and inspected when going through security checkpoints.
So to help travelers out, the Chicago Airport System will offer free gift wrap during certain hours at Midway (MDW) and O’Hare International (ORD).
Airport system officials say they expect 3.2M travelers to go through the two airports starting Friday through the end of the year. It is estimated that 231,000 will go through O’Hare, and 63,000 will go through Midway.
To further spread the holiday spirit, both airports will have live entertainment from local blues and jazz bands and strolling carolers.
