The Columbus Regional Airport Authority has broken ground on its newest terminal at John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH). The new terminal, part of the airport’s $2-billion CMH Next Project, will have 36 gates; a central marketplace with food, beverage and retail concepts; multiple accessibility features including sensory rooms, family restrooms, pet relief areas and nursing rooms; as well as sustainability features including energy-efficient smart glass, 250 electric vehicle chargers and LED light fixtures. Passengers will also benefit from two curbside entry and exit points as well as one centralized security checkpoint. The new terminal is expected to open in 2029.

“Our new terminal is only possible thanks to the support of our many partners, community members, and airport employees, who have all worked alongside us as we officially kick off construction today,” said Columbus Regional Airport Authority president and CEO Joseph R. Nardone Nardone. “We look forward to opening a vibrant and welcoming new terminal that will reflect Central Ohio and provide a first-class experience for visitors, launch memorable vacations for families, and warmly welcome residents home.
