City Council Names Concourse Communications New Wi-Fi Provider At DEN

Concourse Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boingo Wireless Inc., has been selected as the new provider of free Wi-Fi Internet service at Denver International (DEN); pending approval, it is scheduled to take over the service in the spring.

The airport has provided free Wi-Fi Internet service throughout DEN in the Jeppesen Terminal and Gates A, B and C since 2007, and it will continue to do so under the contract with Concourse Communications. The company has been tasked with improving the quality of the free Wi-Fi service; it will also offer premium services for power users.

“Denver International Airport continuously strives to offer world-class amenities for passengers,” says Chief Commercial Officer John Ackerman. “We realize that passengers use Wi-Fi differently. While our improved free service should satisfy the needs of most passengers, the upgrade option will support power users’ elevated demand for Internet services at DIA.”

The Denver City Council has approved the contract, which now goes on to the city’s mayor, Michael B. Hancock, for final approval.
