The City of Phoenix is seeking an Assistant Aviation Director – Chief Revenue Officer to join the management team at “America’s Friendliest Airport,” Sky Harbor International Airport.

The Assistant Aviation Director (Chief Revenue Officer) is an exempt position that serves under the general direction of the Director of Aviation Services and oversees a complement of 82 professional staff in the following areas: Air Service Development (1), Business & Properties (32), Contracts & Services (21), and Finance (28). The strategic priority for the Assistant Aviation Director is to ensure maximum development of revenues through the attraction, retention and growth of business at the airport. As a leader in the airport’s economic development efforts, the ideal candidate will serve as a business advocate and develop policies that promote competition to provide services while reducing barriers of doing business in airport facilities.

The Assistant Aviation Director will provide strategic oversight, development, and direction to teams responsible for the department’s more than $350 million annual revenue streams through business development and effective management of airline relations including air service development, parking programs, concessions management, and the Aviation Department’s real estate portfolio. Duties include strategic planning and directing the activities of Deputy Directors in administrative and technical operating areas of the Department, such as finance, budgeting, contracting, business development, and airport real estate.

Position Qualifications

  • At least five years of responsible experience in the management or planning and development of a medium- or large-hub airport, three of which must have been in a position supervising professional level staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in airport management, business administration, civil engineering, or a related field is required, however a Master’s degree is preferred.

Salary & Benefits

The annual salary for this position is up to $181,958 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The City contributes 9% of salary into 457/401(a) plans with no matching required and offers a $5,400 annual car allowance and $1,440 annual cell phone allowance.
