Clear Channel Airports To Create Display Program For AUS

The city of Austin, Texas, has taped Clear Channel Airports to create and manage a new, high-tech corporate and community display program at Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS), replacing the 10-year-old advertising displays currently at the airport.

“The digital upgrade will represent the truly dynamic character of the Greater Austin area,” says Assistant Director Jamy Kazanoff, City of Austin Aviation Department. “We are constantly looking for ways to showcase how technology-driven Austin is within the airport and to improve each customer’s experience. With these changes, local businesses and organizations will see a higher quality message displayed to more than eight million passengers annually.”

Multiple LCD flat-screen networks will be installed throughout the airport, as well as a 17-foot video wall greeting arriving passengers and a digital information center with mobile apps that will replace the “phone board” in the baggage-claim area. The additions will allow travelers to connect with the area’s hotels, attractions, restaurants and other nearby businesses.

“The new program will give travelers an attractive, 21st century first impression of the Greater Austin area and provide them with easier access to local information,” says Scott Appnel, marketing manager for CCA. “The digital displays will allow for maximum participation by local businesses thereby giving travelers a more comprehensive picture of what makes Austin such a fantastic destination.”
