CLT Opens Concourse E Expansion

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) this week opened the 34,000-square-foot Concourse E Expansion (Gates E 36-45), a $50 million construction project which adds one gate to the north end of the concourse and relocates nine existing gates for additional hold room space.

The new Concourse E Expansion, the latest milestone in the airport’s Destination CLT multi-billion dollar upgrade and expansion, features a pet relief area, Mother’s Room, restrooms with touchless fixtures, a family restroom, seats with integrated power, terrazzo flooring in the center walkway to accommodate rolling luggage, LED lighting, and new wayfinding signage.

Work continues on the expansion’s four new concessions that will open throughout the year: Gameway, which features gaming stations, Uptown Exchange for news and gifts, Sycamore Brewing and a PDQ restaurant.

CLT will also modernize the existing Concourse E with new carpet, terrazzo flooring in the walkways, LED lighting, seating with integrated power and new wayfinding signage, with that work expected to be completed by 2025.

Concourse E is CLT’s busiest concourse, serving more than 400 daily arrivals and departures for regional American Airlines affiliates carriers.
