CLT Partners with Edge4Vets

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) has partnered with Edge4Vets to prepare and connect veterans, National Guard, transitioning military service personnel and their spouses to employment opportunities at the airport.

Registration is underway for Edge4Vets free career workshop series, which includes two 90-minute Zoom sessions taking place in October. The sessions will help participants translate military strengths and leadership experiences into tools to get hired. Upon completion, veterans will speak to CLT human resources representatives about airport jobs that match their skills.

“This program is a great fit for the airport that will only strengthen our workforce,” said CLT’s CEO and Aviation Director Haley Gentry. “CLT has a proven track record of veterans who have thrived as employees and made valuable contributions to our operations. We look forward to more of those success stories at Charlotte Douglas.”

More than 2,500 veterans and service personnel have completed the Edge4Vets during the past decade program and are now working for banks, pharma, media companies and eight other airports throughout the country.

“An airport functions as a city-within-a-city and thus CLT provides a full array of job opportunities for military service personnel looking to break into aviation,” said Tom Murphy, director of the Human Resiliency Institute at Fordham University, which launched Edge4Vets in 2011. “We’re grateful to CLT for leadership to open doors for vets and connect them to jobs that can lead to aviation careers in Charlotte.”
