Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) said this week that its Airport Overlook, popular with locals for decades, is getting both relocated and upgraded with the modern amenities, paved parking and an expanded Food Truck area.
The new Overlook is currently in design, but will remain on airport property, very close to its current location. No timetable is set for its completion but airport officials indicated that the current location will remain open until then.
Charlotte-area aviation enthusiasts have enjoyed plane-spotting for years at CLT, prompting the building of the current Overlook in 1989, which has had several touch-ups over the years since then.
