CMH Shows Off Modernized Terminal

Port Columbus International (CMH) has completed a three-year, $80 million terminal renovation and modernization program.

The airport hopes the updates spur future passenger growth and continues CMH’s $3.7 billion annual economic impact for the Columbus region. The renovations include the addition of restaurants, a new Wi-Fi system, more natural lighting, terrazzo flooring, seating and upgraded restrooms.

“We’re especially proud that 15 percent of the work was awarded to small and economically disadvantaged businesses,” says Elaine Roberts, president and CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “We recognize the importance of providing opportunity to businesses of all sizes. While under no federal requirement, this program provided tremendous opportunity to partner with a wide variety of highly skilled companies.”

The program also added more art displays and visual elements to the airport.

“Travelers are enjoying two lounges with museum-quality displays that trace the airport’s rich history, a 2,480-square-foot mosaic with cultural scenes from Columbus and an exhibit highlighting notable Ohio aviators,” says Roberts.

The four new concessions opened as part of the project are Donatos Pizza, Bob Evans Express, Eddie George’s Grille 27 and the Short North Marketplace.
