CNN announced this week it is ending its CNN Airport Network, currently available in dozens of U.S. airports, effective March 31.
In announcing the end of the CNN Airport Network after 30 years, Jeffrey Zucker, CNN president, said in a memo posted on Twitter, “The steep decline in airport traffic because of COVID-19 coupled with all the new ways that people are consuming content on their personal devices, has lessened the need for the CNN Airport Network.”
In noting that the CNN Airport Network had become a part of the U.S. travel experience, Zucker said, “Be proud that we had a hand in sharing some incredible stories with many millions of people over the past three decades.”
