Five concessions opportunities are up for grabs in Los Angeles International’s (LAX) Terminal 1 following Westfield’s announcement of a Competitive Evaluation Process.
Operators can bid on opportunities in several categories, including travel essentials, specialty retail, and quick-service food and snacks.
The redevelopment is part of the $508 million overhaul led by Los Angeles World Airports and Southwest Airlines. Terminal 1 is expected to be completed in 2018. Upon completion, the terminal will have 24 dining and retail concepts and will span 25,252 feet, which nearly doubles the size of such offerings prior to the renovation.
“We’ve already begun to see a huge transformation of the customer experience take shape inside Terminal 1,” says Keith Kaplan, Westfield’s vice president at LAX. “Westfield is seeking partners for five units that will deliver an enhanced experience to customers and further our overall design vision for Terminal 1.”
