Convenience Store Coming To Halifax Stanfield International

Halifax International Airport Authority and Irving Oil have reached an agreement that will bring a gas station and convenience store to Halifax Stanfield International (YHZ).

The commercial development is expected to span 3.4 acres of the airport’s property. It will include 12 fueling lanes and offer three grades of gasoline. The site also will feature a 24/7 convenience store, commercial fleet refueling, pay-at-the-pump technology and quick-service food.

Additional concepts are expected to be developed on the site, and future development is expected to include a space adjacent to the convenience store and another stand-alone building, both of which will feature food tenants.

Irving Oil will occupy the first block of the commercial core area.

“We are tremendously pleased to have Irving as the first tenant in our new commercial development,” says Joyce Carter, president and CEO of YHZ. “Last fall, we surveyed our 5,700 airport employees to determine what services they would like to see. We are confident this first development will begin to fill the needs of our airport community, as well as those of the thousands of passengers and visitors that come onto our property each day.”

Planning is underway. A grand opening is expected this fall.
