Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) said this week that it’s podcast plans to take on the growing issue of human trafficking in the coming weeks by partnering with BEST – Businesses Ending Slavery & Trafficking to highlight the issue and recognize suspicious activity.
The “Love Field Stories” will use its March 8 podcast to bring in two experts, Rebekah Covington of the BEST Maritime/Safe Jobs Collaborative, and Kevin Connelly, BEST Aviation/Hospitality, to educate the broader community and inspire other airports and businesses to follow the lead of DAL in raising awareness.
“Businesses like ours are central to preventing and reporting human trafficking, so it was important for our staff to be trained to ‘see something, say something,’” said Chris Perry, DAL external communications and marketing manager. “We invite you to listen to this program and hear some important tips along with Rebekah’s moving story of how she was trafficked.”
Through industry-specific training and education, BEST trains thousands of employees every year in airports, seaports, government agencies, and hotels to identify and prevent exploitation, while also supporting survivors of human trafficking through employment programs and job readiness skills.
