Buffalo, N.Y.-based Delaware North and partner Superior Hospitality Group have opened three restaurants in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International’s (FLL) Concourse H in Terminal 4.
Casavana is a 53-seat eatery featuring a menu of Cuban dishes made with beef, chicken, pork or seafood in addition to sides such as traditional white rice and black beans and sweet plantains. The restaurant, created by Cuban-born brothers Lazaro and Jose Garcia, also offers a 13-seat bar. Casavana Cafe is an abbreviated version of the restaurant that provides a “hot-on-the-go” menu for travelers in a hurry.
Tropical-themed Kafe Kalik is a bar and restaurant the company says provides “a taste of the Bahamas without actually being there.” In addition to a menu of specialty drinks, the restaurant features an Arawak Sushi Bar and dishes made with conch, shrimp, grouper and other island ingredients.
“I think our offerings are transformational for the airport,” says Kevin Kelly, president of Delaware North. “We are reaching out and reflecting the community in the foods that we are offering and serving here. It’s authentic.”
The restaurants are part of the airport’s Terminal Modernization Program.
