Airport executives, city officials, concessionaires and famed footballers alike celebrated the opening of three new eateries at Denver International Airport (DEN) last week. Elway’s Taproom & Grill, Tacos Tequila Whiskey and Peet’s Coffee are now open in the airport’s new Concourse A marketplace. They are the first three new businesses officially open in the facility’s Concourse A-West expansion area near gate A20.
A joint venture between Skyport Hospitality and ACDBE-certified JAF Concessions, the Concourse A marketplace offers the airport’s first Peet’s Coffee, Mexican cuisine from the Colorado-based Tacos Tequila Whiskey as well as beers and hand-cut prime steaks from Elway’s Taproom & Grill, in a second airport location owned by Denver Broncos Hall of Famer John Elway and partner Tim Schmidt.
“Today is a great symbol of the transformational power of this airport,” said Denver Mayor Mike Johnston at the opening event. “DEN is a place that celebrates local brands and local legends, which is why we’re honored to open Elway’s Taproom & Grill, as well as Tacos Tequila Whiskey and Peet’s Coffee. . Denver is really expanding its footprint on the international stage. Part of that is that we want customers who visit this airport to be reminded of what they love about Denver and to experience dining and retail that they can only find in Denver.”
