World Wide Money Exchange, a global currency exchange, has opened three new locations at Denver International (DEN).
The company trades in 85 foreign currencies, and provides international and domestic wires, traveler’s checks, money orders, postage stamps and other business services.
The new stores replace three prior locations with an updated look and feel. They’re inside the Jeppesen Terminal near international arrivals on level 5 and in the centers of Concourses A and B. The company has operated at DEN since 1995.
“International passenger traffic at Denver International Airport continues to grow and the addition of these updated money exchange services will provide our global travelers with convenient locations to convert currency and acquire additional financial services before leaving Denver or upon arrival in the United States,” says Neil Maxfield, acting director of concessions at DEN.
In other DEN news, the airport announced Friday that it will seek bids on 14 new shopping and dining locations, including a common-use passenger lounge, convenience retail for the upcoming public transit center and a brewery-themed restaurant for the upcoming Westin hotel and conference center.
There will be 11 requests for proposals for the 14 new opportunities. They will be released beginning in November.
DEN is in the process of turning over about 75 percent of its 140 concession locations due to expiring leases, aiming as part of the process to bring a better mix of local flavors and national brands.
“We are actively seeking concepts that will provide quality and variety while meeting the escalating expectation of the traveling public, while simultaneously creating a sense of place at DIA,” says CEO Kim Day.
The efforts will be supported by a free seminar for entrepreneurs during the annual DIA Day, which will be held October 7 at the Renaissance Denver Hotel.
